Amazing Weekend!!!
Hi, everybody!! I think this is working right now, so I’m going to try to zap a quick message. I could stay on the computer all night & not be able to describe what an awesome weekend we just returned from!!  The 11of us in the Trinity group left our hotel on Sat. afternoon to go to our sister parish Lyamanyaki Lutheran Parish. It was about a 30 minute drive–the last few miles over VERY bumpy, narrow roads. As we arrived at the church, a huge crowd was there to greet us waving branches and singing and chanting. They were lead by a native dance group complete with drums and antelope horn. We were ushered into the church and given a welcome that rock stars would be envious of!! I can’t take the time to describe every detail of what we did, but besides worship on Sunday, we helped break ground for their new preschool building and visited the village primary & secondary schools. We stayed in private homes with the most gracious host families in the world. Despite their very sparse living arrangements, they treated us like royalty. We ate and ate and ate. Tea time (both morning and at 10:00 p.m.) was actually a full meal–in addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At our departing tea we were served a goat that had been roasted WHOLE (including hair on the head & feet) over an open pit all day long. It was very difficult to say good-bye to these new friends.  Their dedication to their church and their deep love of the Lord were so very inspiring. We learned many lessons from them and look forward to a continued relationship with their parish. It was nice to enjoy a shower when we got back to the hotel this afternoon. It had poured rain during church on Sunday morning (we were told that was God’s blessing on our visit), and it made the red dirt roads/paths that we had to walk very muddy!! Hope all’s well with everyone else! I was glad to hear that Bekah’s team arrived safely in Thailand. Please continue to pray for their ministry there as well as for our continued visit here!! Asante! Asante sana!!! (Thanks! Thanks very much!!!) Love, N.

Just want you to know that we are all praying for you and Bekah! All my love Deb
Nance, Glad to hear things are going well! You’ll need to make a trip to NM to tell me about your adventures.
I got the package. Gave the Blue Bottle book to my friend, Becky, to read. Also I found that I have the women of the Bible quilting book that you mentioned. I would have liked to been there for that program.
Praying for you and your traveling compadres. Love, San
